About Mr. Waldrop:
First of all, I would just like to say that I am very blessed to work with each and every student at Tryon Elementary School in grades kindergarten through fifth.  It is an absolute privilege to work with your child in their pursuit of academic excellence.  It is not only my job to educate your child, but also to teach them the life skills they must possess upon entering the world in which we live.  Here at Tryon Elementary School, each faculty member does what is right for students, which in turn teaches our students to do what is right for themselves and others who surround them.  With that being said, we will create a more harmonious environment for each generation to live in.

I was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, raised in Campobello, South Carolina and eventually moved to the Tryon area during my middle school years.  Needless to say, I am a native of this area with an overwhelming passion for the community that surrounds me.  During my high school years at Landrum High School, I was involved in competition weight lifting and football.  During my senior year of high school, I knew exactly what I wanted to do next:  obtain a collegiate degree in education so that I could become a teacher and influence lives in a positive way, just as mine had been influenced.  Upon graduating college, I taught social studies at Chapman High School (located in Inman, South Carolina).  Although teaching history was and still is one of my greatest passions, teaching elementary school is the most rewarding job there is!  It is amazing the amount of gratitude I receive each day from our students here at Tryon Elementary School.  It drives me to not only become a better educator, but a better role model for each and every student who walks in my classroom.  It is my pleasure to work with your child.  If you have any questions, please email me at my address at the top of the screen.  The best is yet to come!
